A Forgotten Masterpiece - From the Dark Cave

Wandering in Henrietta Place yesterday, I suddenly noticed for the first time this incredible sculptural frieze. A personal history of architecture, from Caves to Canary Wharf by the late Keir Smith (1950 -2007) a sculptor and draughtsman.

He won the Royal Society of Arts "Art for Architecture Award" for this work in 1992 but I cannot find a complete set of pictures anywhere on the net. The work is entitled ' From the Dark Cave'.

This magnificent frieze is at first floor level around Henrietta House, Henrietta Place, London W1.

The building is in the final stages of a refurbishment and is due to reopen soon.
