Every Addition to True Knowledge is an Addition to Human Power

I was in Queens Square, London, earlier today, when these two stone reliefs caught my eye.

 

They are both by the sculptor AJJ Ayres there is some more information about him at Ornamental Passions  The Quotation on the panel "Research" is by by Horace Mann. The panels are above doors to the 1937 extension of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
